Rooted in the Stars: An Artistic Constellation

Noma Gcabashe.

In the quiet gravity of the feed, "Rooted in the Stars" aligns itself not simply as an Instagram account, but as a cosmic biography of becoming.  Each post serves as a lantern against the vast night, illuminating journeys felt as much as seen.

Here, the work unfurls like a breath in motion: photographic fragments, layered visuals, and symbols that feel born of both memory and myth. This is not documentation, but translation. Gogo Stokkie render's the silent poetry of human experience into light and form.

Like stars tracing ancient mythologies across dark heavens, the project maps experience in constellations. Each post is a radiant point, a node of connection, a whisper of narrative that anticipates its echo. There is an intuition at work, an impulse to make visible things that seem swept aside by everyday perception: the gentle glow of dusk on skin, the way wind etches a thought on a still horizon, the way memory shapes colour and motion. "Rooted in the Stars" has managed to become a space which serves as a quiet compass of introspection.

This work does not arrive fully formed. It comes as a call, a resonance: the faint echo of a heartbeat beneath starlight, urging us to look again, to pause, to become fluent in the language of the unspoken and the unseen.

Check out our friends at Rooted in the Stars and follow your inner compass.

Thank you for reflecting on my practice so beautifully. As a see-er it isn’t often that I get to witness myself or extensions of myself through others eyes. This is an honour ✨.
